Everything (OK, “Much of What”) You’d Want to Know About Liberty
My extended bibliographic essay on “The Literature of Liberty” from The Libertarian Reader (David Boaz, ed.; New York: The Free Press, 1998) is now available in an easily downloaded version from the Institute for Humane Studies. I think it provides a pretty good overview of scholarship on liberty, including a section on “Critics of Libertarianism” that takes the critics seriously. The version that IHS put up has the same layout and pagination as the published version but is a digital-text PDF file that is easy and fast to download, even with a relatively slow internet connection. I hope that students, scholars, and eggheads generally find it useful.
