I cast my vote in the “Marriage Poll” organized by the “American Family Association,” an organization of crackpots that has affiliated with the anti-gay “Stephen Bennett Ministries,” which promises “complete change” from homosexuality to heterosexuality through prayer (not to mention cold showers and regular visits to the sleaziest pickup spots for anonymous sex).
The AFA promises on its web site that “The results will be presented to Congress.” The last I checked, 54.85% favored “legalization of homosexual marriage,” 8.32% favored “”civil union’ with the full benefits of marriage except for the name,” and 36.82% opposed “legalization of homosexual marriages and ‘civil unions’.” Let’s see if that 54.85% can be boosted over 60%. I wonder if they’d fulfill their promise to present results like those to Congress.
