Sorry. I was trying to be ironic, and that generally doesn’t translate well. I am aware that people in France can be remarkably hateful, despite the fact that the left-of-center intelligentsia in America think that the French are simply perfect. But then, hatefulness can be found virtually everywhere; no one has a monopoly on it.
