I didn’t actually know that Florida contained any Burmese pythons large enough to swallow an entire adult live alligator. (Here’s the BBC story on the exploding python: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4313978.stm)
(I’m reminded of a conversation in Oxford when I had some friends over for a dinner party. I got a call from my brother in Colorado and the guests were rather shocked to hear that my brother and his family hadn’t left the house all day because there were bears in their front yard. Most Europeans have no idea how wild life can be in north America.)
Pretty strong case for staying out of the Florida wetlands… I can’t seem to come to a decision on who had it worse off- the gator or the snake?

Judging by the snake’s fate, it would seem…it doesn’t.
It looks like it swallowed it. It just suffered from fatal indigestion.
well i remember bears in our yard when i lived in colorado, we had to shoot them with pellet guns to get them to move, then we ran to the car. it was scary.
