Korea by Night
I had a good experience yesterday with a lecture and meetings at the Salahaddin University in Erbil, for which I had prepared a Powerpoint presentation. (I may convert that to PDF and post it later, if I get the chance and have an internet connection; once again, the satellite photo of the Korean peninsula by night had a striking impact.) I also met with the Minister of Education and various aides to discuss textbooks and the introduction of private schooling, which had been banned under Saddam but is now starting to reappear. I’ve got various meetings scheduled for later today with Iraqi parliamentarians. In the meantime, I’m trying to get ready for some of the meetings and for a lecture and meetings I’ll be having in Moscow next week.
