Constantinople/Istanbul

I’m off today to Istanbul, on my way to Tbilisi. I’ve not been in Turkey before and I’ve got so much work to do on my laptop that I may not see as much as I’d like during my short stay, but such is life. (If there are any WiFi connected cafes, however, that’s got to be nicer than a hotel room.) I’ll get in to Tbilisi at 3:30 am.

Thank you, Orhan. It’s really a beautiful city. The flight over the city in the early evening was breathtaking. (And, yes, I had to spend a little time after dinner doing business with a Turkish rug merchant; after looking at hundreds of rugs I bought — after offering 4/7 of his asking price — a beautiful little one for my brother and sister-in-law for only, um….2 or 3 times what a Turk would have paid.)
