I just got back from a hellacious trip from Baku to Washington. But I was pleased to find that a slightly edited (i.e., shorter) version of my essay on the controversy over the proposed (and thus far rejected) gay pride parade in Russia was printed in the Washington Blade. (Russian versions appeared on GayRussia.com and Cato.ru. The missing footnotes, for those who would like to follow up on the research, are available — in English — in the version that appeared in Russian on Cato.ru. It also appeared in Arabic, with a longer discussion of the disagreements among Moslem authorities regarding the issue, on Misbahalhurriyya.org.)
