Arabic Libertarianism Presented, Preparation for Middle East Trip

I’ve been swamped with projects and will be off to the Middle East on Saturday (after a meeting of the Foundation for Economic Education board of trustees) to meet with book publishers and newspapers and to give some university lectures. I took part with colleagues in introducing our new bi-lingual American Declaration of Independence and U.S Constitution at an event along with Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), the co-chair of the Congressional Middle East Economic Partnership Caucus. Zainab al Suwaij gave a very moving talk that she kicked off by reading the “We hold these truths to be self-evident” passage from the Declaration of Independence in Arabic. In the meantime, here are some articles that recently appeared in the Jordanian press from the Lamp of Liberty, thanks to the hard work of my colleagues in Jordan:

David Boaz, “Rights and Responsibilities”

William Easterly, “Why Foreign Aid Doesn’t Work, Part I”

William Easterly, “Why Foreign Aid Doesn’t Work, Part II”

After I iron out some difficulties in uploading it, I’ll try to link to my Powerpoint presentation (in PDF format) from today’s briefing in the Russell Senate Office Building.
