Forty years ago this past week Chinese civilization came under attack and hundreds of thousands — possibly millions — were murdered. It was called the “Cultural Revolution.” Those deaths were, of course, on top of the tens of millions of people who were murdered or who died in the famines brought on by collectivization, the “Great Leap Forward” and other noble social experiments.
