After speaking at the Charles G. Koch Summer Fellows seminar and then meeting a number of colleagues in D.C., I headed off to Iceland for the 2008 Sumarháskólinn: Frelsi og alþjóðavæðing, in Bifröst, Iceland. I spoke to the Reykjavik chapter of the Independence Party youth group yesterday, was interviewed by journalists from Fréttablaðið and then from Morgunblaðið. I gave my talk this morning to the Sumarháskólinn on the historical origins of liberty. Tonight I’ll give a talk on the challenges to liberty around the world and tomorrow on frontiers of libertarian thought.
June is an odd time in Iceland, as the sun never goes down. I was talking to the students last night and was still thinking that it was about 7 pm. I looked at my watch and it was 11:40 pm!
Next week I’m off to Accra, Ghana, for the Students and Young Professionals Liberty Academy.
