I’m going to drive this afternoon from Bifröst to Reykjolt, home of Snorri Sturluson, one of the greatest figures of European literature. I’m very pleased at the prospect, as I’m a big fan of Snorri’s works, especially the Gylfaginning, Skáldskaparmál, and Egils saga.

Thanks, Tom, for a very interesting, fun and educational weekend. Glad you got the chance to have some fun too, in Skálholt!
And we all better get down to reading Orkneyingasaga… 😉
Rgds,

Thank you, Asta, and your fellow participants. I also learned a lot and I enjoyed the conversations, not to mention the beautiful countryside and refreshing air of western Iceland.
(I’m finally back in DC, after awful delays in Boston.)
I have also resolved to read more of the Sagas…and to try to understand the skaldic poetry and kennings better. Oh, and also to learn more from the propertization of the Icelandic fisheries as a model for intelligent institutional design.
