??????? ????????? ?7 (203): «?? ?????? ???????? ??????»
(The interview was done at their office in Almaty, Kazakhstan, after a number of meetings with people at the Central Bank and various government ministries, and with journalists, business associations, professional groups, civil society groups, and others. The interview was a lot of fun.)
And here’s a report on a talk I gave to a group of young businesspeople, professionals, and students in Almaty: ??? ??????: “??????? ????? – ??? ?? ????????? ?? ????????”
And another in Gazeta.kz.
Thank you for your interview.
History is said to be teacher of life. If my translation is not correct, I can reproduce this statement in Latin: “Historia est magistra vitae”. But all historical experience exemplifies that history never doesn’t teach And there are challenges. A lot of representatives of national elites and so-called world establishment are trying to turn the world to protectionism and increasing of governmental expansion despite all their promises. For example, on the one hand there is the Putin’s Davos speech about free trade and the spirit of entrepreneurship, on the other hand Putin&Co as a ruling class have established the regime of “state corporative capitalism” in Russia.
Of course, as a libertarian I support your arguments and statements for the advancing and protection of our libertarian values. Especially I like your note on equal rules of game for all participants/agents of market. To my mind It’s connected with the well-known passage of The Declaration of Independence: all men are created equal. And also I like your commentary, describing the stupid policy of government spending in the situation of the world financial crisis.
Earlier A. Illarionov also used the figure of speech for the describing of the similar process:
“In Korney Chukovsky’s classic children’s poem, “Putanitsa” (“The Muddle”), a crocodile is unable to put out a fire with pirogi and blini. Similarly, the fire of Russia’s deep and long-term institutional crisis cannot be extinguished with the financial “pirogi and blini” offered by Russian leaders — particularly when these goodies are divvied out only to their close friends”.

I will be quoting you “the bottle of vodka is not a medicine for the hangover”!
Btw, just wanted to say, I really liked the Russian translation (which I think is important).
