The Liberty Forum in Porto Alegre, Brazil was really inspiring. So many smart, energetic, and dedicated friends of liberty in one place. The debates were of a level that is hard to imagine in many other countries, the organization was superbly executed, and the atmosphere was electrifying.
I filled in for my friend Feng Xingyuan, who was not able to attend because of a visa problem (not from the Chinese authorities, but from the British, who required a transit visa). His presentation was on the important role of cross-border investment (foreign capital) in the process of economic development, with special attention to the Chinese economic miracle.
I’m in São Paulo for a number of meetings, and then back to DC for a short time.
