Public Speaking

I’m about to give a talk at the current Cato University in Quebec on “The Art of Persuasion” (which is going very well so far) on public speaking. Talking about talking raises some interesting problems, since the audience is judging you about how well you’re living up to or following the rules and precepts that you set down. Wish me luck. (I’ll be distributing at the end of the talk a “Speakers’ Checklist.” Friends of liberty who’d like to see it are invited to email me. It’s a work in progress and feedback would be appreciated.)

Yazad, Could you send me your email address? I clicked on your link and it took me to your interesting web page, but I couldn’t find any email address to send you the checklist.

  2. Tom, Just saw your comment. I’m surprised! Right on the top of my sidebar is my email Id (under the title “Contact Me”).

Also, you can activate Movable Type to email you comments received on your site. I always put my email in (MT will hide it if I also put my site URL). That way you can directly reply to commenters — which is what I did when you sent a comment.

Of course I did get the checklist by email. Many thanks for that.

And hoping that you would visit AnarCapLib more often!

Sorry, Yazad. Evidently when I visited your site, most of it didn’t download. I just did so again and you’ve got lots of interesting posts that didn’t load the first time and….a means to contact you! (Note: I seem to be having problems with the interaction between my Mirra backup system, my DSL modem, and my wifi router. That may have kept part of your site from downloading. Or there may be some other reason. The new world of high tech can sometimes be confusing when the various smart pieces don’t get along. But I hope to resolve that soon.)
