When living in Britain, I acquired the habit of listening to the BBC, something I still do frequently in Washington (and elsewhere). Robin Aitken was a familiar voice. He’s now come out of the closet and revealed a world of intolerance, bigotry, and bias. I may sometimes share their preferences (as I sometimes do with NPR), but A) that doesn’t mean that their reporting isn’t biased, and B) it doesn’t mean that I should therefore support continued state subsidies and other privileges.
