The Moral Consequences of Economic Growth

I’ve just gotten a new book to which I’ve been looking forward: The Moral Consequences of Economic Growth, by Benjamin M. Friedman. I hope to get through it in the near future.

And I’m typing this from my new Freedom Chair, another consequence of economic growth with arguably moral consequences of its own, since I can now sit and write for extended periods without experiencing mind-destroying pain. (Or at least, with a little less less of it.)

    Tom,

Your Freedom Chair link leads to Amazon, which offers the chair. Since you seem to think highly of the chair, you may want to go to that site yourself and be the first person to critique it for Amazon.

Good idea, Ross. I will do so, probably later tonight. (Reviews usually take a few days to go up, of course, so the excitement will just have to hang in the air for a while.)

  3. Perhaps I should look into this. I have advanced arthritis at the base of my spine, which prevents me from sitting for lengthy periods of time without a high degree of pain. Can’t tell you how many different chairs that I’ve tried over the years (as a local charity can attest!).
    Just a thought.
