A Few Items Finished, More to Come

I’ve been both engaged in a number of projects and ill for a time, but I’ll post on some exciting developments soon, perhaps this weekend.

We’ve made great progress toward putting up a libertarian website in the Kurdish; my colleagues have been getting pieces translated and ready to post and the design is really coming along nicely. (In fact, it’s beautiful.) I hope that the rollout will be in January.

I’m meeting today with some people to talk about a Persian (Farsi) site and I hope that we will nail that down and be ready to launch a program early 2007.

We’re moving forward on plans for a major libertarian networking program in the Russian-speaking world that will build on our October conference in Tbilisi, but will involve more young people. (I’m hoping to hold it in Ukraine.) And I’m working with my Georgian friends to bring another conference on classical liberal reforms in Eurasia (involving people from the entire former Soviet Union plus neighboring areas) to Tbilisi.

And last night I finally finished Anthony Everitt’s wonderful biography of the first Roman Emperor, Augustus. I’ll try to write up some thoughts this weekend on what I learned from it.

  1. This has been an incredible year for you, Tom. As you look back over the year, there are so many things that you have accomplished.

Many congratulations to you, and may your next be even more in your pursuit of liberty throughout the world!

Thanks, Ken. That’s a remarkably nice thing to write.

I’m always aware of how much more there is to do, because we can never do enough for the values of freedom and justice.
