This is simply brilliant! In the most clever parody of 2006,
Charming demonstrators in Nantes brought in the new year last night by demonstrating against it. Hundreds of French youths marched through the time with banners saying “Non Ã?Â??Ã?Â?Ã? 2007”, demanding that people sign a petition to the UN.
The petition requested that the UN stop time’s “mad race” and declared a moratorium on the future. The light-hearted demonstrators protested in the rain, adding that even the weather was against the year 2007. As the seconds ticked away, some protestors even chanted against the year 2008, in preparation for next year’s demonstrations.
(The BBC also picked up on the story. I wonder if our young friends at Libert��?���© Ch��?���©rie were behind the clever manifestation.)
No to the future! No to progress! No to capitalism! No to science!

Unfortunately, we at Libert��?���© Ch��?���©rie did not take part in the event, but it was indeed a brilliant idea : the mainstream media covered the demonstration and these guys gave us a good picture of ourselves.

Last year or the year before demonstrators in France protested against the cold weather. For those who doubt about it: they do it as a joke.
