Free Kareem Rallies February 15

Friends of freedom will be at dignified rallies in cities around the world on behalf of Abdelkareem, who is awaiting sentencing in Egypt for expressing his opinions on his blog. Rallies will be held in New York, London, Ottawa, Chicago, Bucharest, Washington, Rome, and Paris, and we are hoping for other cities.

In Washington, friends of freedom will gather at noon on February 15 at the Egyptian Cultural and Educational Bureau: 1303 New Hampshire Ave, NW; Washington, DC, near Dupont Circle.

Visit www.freekareem.org for more details. If you can spare an hour on February 15, please join those who are standing for freedom of speech….and for the freedom of a young man who — agree with him or not — merely spoke his mind.

  1. Dr Palmer good to see the logo for Kareem in Romanian. That means that at least few of us do follow the sad and often puzzling behavior of Arab/Muslim governments towards their own citizens.

Few years ago, I have been an intern with Cato, and briefly helped you with some library research. I was so very scared at the time! 🙂 but things went well, and you were very helpful. I have followed the blog in the past 10 months, and I wish you the best.

I completely agree with Manuela, thanks god, an important group is active against what is going on. And something tells me that I have something in common with this young lady…NV

NV from WSN? I work for WSN, every once in awhile.

Dr Palmer apparently one can meet his/her peers in international affairs through your blog. That means that you have a very sharp audience, which is in fact a recognition of your brilliant work and witty comments.

  4. I am very happy you are doing this. I wish the best for the rallies and also I hope Kareem will be set free.

Freedom of expression seems to be a granted thing for many of us. Still, there are places where you just can’t think of saying: “No!”.

It is sad that people sometimes forget that rights like that of saying what you think can be taken from us so easily.

My best wishes for the rally! On Liberty!
