Senate seat for Caroline Kennedy would extend legacy

“Remember, [Clinton's] seat in the Senate was once held by Robert Kennedy,” CNN Senior Political Analyst Bill Schneider said Saturday. “Her other uncle, Ted Kennedy, is ill right now. If [New York Gov. David] Paterson appoints Caroline Kennedy to the Senate, it means there could be a Kennedy staying in the Senate for quite a long time.”

One good thing about the Obama victory: He’s not from a family accustomed to ruling people.

Caroline as a Senator is a continuation of a sick joke that has been playing in Boston since JFK. Enough of these people who do nothing.

No, it’s worse. To quote Marlon Brando’s character in Apocalpyse Now, Obama is “an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks to collect a bill.” And the only reason he’s got that role is probably preferential treatment on account of race.

Meh. No one is qualified to be a federal politician: these jobs somehow now encompass the subsidiary roles of actor, therapist, superhero, and a million more. If anyone must have those jobs, let them be someone not quite as tainted by sneering nepotism.

Sadly, his children will be…
