Porn industry seeks federal bailout
Makes as much sense as bailing out the automobile industry:
“With all this economic misery and people losing all that money, sex is the farthest thing from their mind. It’s time for congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America. The only way they can do this is by supporting the adult industry and doing it quickly.”

Imagine what politics would do to porn if government did subsidize it. I expect the cast of each film would be exquisitely balanced in terms of race, age, sex, disability, etc. Men would always wear protection, and women would never be “objectified” or “demeaned.” And there’d always be a scene in which a couple elected to remain abstinent.
