BBC: “Denmark pulls ‘promiscuous’ video”
Critics says the video implied that along with traditional tourism, Denmark was a place to go to have unprotected sex with strangers, with one Danish newspaper, Ekstra Bladet, labelling it “grotesque” and a “waste of tax payers money”.
Um, right.
I’m utterly speechless on the subject of how or why this would be a tourist ad.
But on the subject of this being a waste of taxpayers money… no, no, it is not a waste at all. How many other government programs have a million or so people voluntarily seeking it out? And that it’s been kept alive via bootleg copies means it has passed the market test.
By all means, let’s petition Obama, Geithner, and Bernanke; surely more of these would be a fine use of stimulus funds!
I am SO upset with this ad I am almost speechless!
Do you know how expensive it is to have to cancel a flight to Denmark at the last minute??!
