Legal Tinder Laws?

Posecution for Murder: Exhibit A

Imagine being prosecuted for a magic trick in which you “burn” a bank note and then produce it, intact and unburned. According to the BBC, that’s what happened to K. Keshav Rao in Andhra Pradesh:

K Keshav Rao of the Congress party performed the trick with a 100-rupee note at a gathering of magicians in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh.

The state’s opposition Telugu Desam party demanded his arrest, as burning banknotes is an offence in India.

One Response to “Legal Tinder Laws?”

  1. It’s a vitally important law, of course. Just think of the massive deflation that would result if everyone began burning their banknotes. It must not be allowed to happen! We need more such laws!

Of course, Mr. Rao has an airtight defense in this case, since he magically restored the note.
