Remarkable victory for the GOP. And there’s plenty of work to do.
I’m still surprised by the remarkable gain of the Senate by the GOP. I expected them to keep the house, given the way that both parties have used sophisticated computer modeling to gerrymander incumbents. But you can’t redraw state lines, so senate seats can still be in play. What a disappointment for the NPR crowd.
Of course, I see little to crow about from my perspective. The careful work of promoting liberty and strictly limited government is just as important as ever. And so I’m off in a few hours to San Diego for the Fall Cato University, for which over 100 people will be gathering to improve their skills in convincing others of the merits of liberty. And when the seminar is over, I will not be on the road as much and will be able to A) devote much more time and energy to editing the Encyclopedia of Libertarianism, and B) spend a bit more time blogging.
