Although as I write this their web site is down, a very good source of news about what’s going on in Iraq is Iraq Today, the first English-language paper in the country. I met recently in D.C. with their editor, Hassan Fattah, who is a remarkably sensible person and who is quite committed to implanting a culture of journalism and critical thinking in his native country. It covers not only Iraqi politics, but also business, culture, and more. It’s worth checking out and definitely worth an on-line subscription for serious Iraq watchers. (I do hope that their web site is back up soon. If it’s not up, write the URL down and visit it later.)
