I’m going to be lecturing at a number of seminars this coming summer, including the ultra fabulous Cato University, which I strongly encourage people to consider and to recommend to friends. They’re a great opportunity to share ideas, make friends, and learn a lot. (I do all three every time I take part.)
This year’s Cato University has a somewhat different format, with more elective workshops. Also, Ive added some new lecturers, including Piotr Kaznacheev from Russia, Jane Shaw and Richard Stroup from Montana, David Schmidtz and Elizabeth Willott from Arizona, and others from yet more exotic locales. Nathaniel Branden will also speak, as will some popular Cato U veterans, such as Marcus Cole of Stanford Law School, Robert McDonald of West Point, and my humble self.
I’ll also be speaking at an Institute for Humane Studies seminar on “Globalization and Poverty” in June at Brown University and at the opening seminar of the Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow’s Program.
College students should check out the programs of the Institute for Humane Studies, which has a lot more than just seminars, and college students and high school students should look into the programs of the Foundation for Economic Education. (I am a member of FEE’s board of trustees.) Come to think of it, the IHS web site has material for prospective college students, too.
I would reiterate Dr. Palmer’s enthusiasm for these various programs. I have particpated in several of them, and they have always proven more worthwhile than I believed prior to attendance. Additionally, Dr. Palmer’s presentations are always lively and informative. Please apply at Cato, IHS, or FEE for any number of positions.
