Can It Be Mended?
The Los Angeles Times reports on opposition from conservatives to elements of the “Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act.” Let’s hope that the provisions currently requiring congressional reauthorization are not made permanent, as the administration wants. Having some conservatives on board, along with the modern liberals and the libertarians, makes a difference.
