A Spectre Is Haunting an Indian Family….the Spectre of Respecting Property
He’s considered a “ghost,” but he’s …. still alive.
Note: Call me cynical, but this seems a more likely explanation of the bizarre behavior of the man’s cousins:
His lawyer, Maonhar Soni, said the refusal of relatives to accept that his client is alive could also be because of Mr Raghuvanshi’s property and the few acres of land that he owns.
I’m surprised I’ve never seen any theorizing on the rights of ghosts. If there were such a thing as a ghost, would it retain rights to pproperty it once owned? Or are ghosts who haunt their old premises trespassers who may be justly exorcised?
Here’s a glaring hole in the theory of property that would make a fine thesis for some grad student. Maybe at Miskatonic University?
