Some of the bravest fighters for liberty are on the continent of Africa. People who wish to advance freedom in places that desperately need liberty, well defined and legally secure rights, freedom of trade and travel, and the rule of law should consider supporting groups such as Imani, IEA Ghana, and IREN (who publish a great newsletter, The African Executive), the Free Market Foundation, and other fine groups through donations to the Atlas Economic Research Foundation. I’m looking forward to speaking at the African regional Mont Pelerin Society meeting in Kenya in February, where I’ll have a chance to spend time with some people I admire greatly for their determination and courage.
