When Did Justin Raimondo and Lew Rockwell Start Doing CNN Weather Forecasts?

Tbilisi%20Russia%20Forecast.jpg

UPDATE: It seems that they’ve been replaced as weather forecasters, since the page has been corrected.

UPDATE: An otherwise clever and observant friend didn’t quite get the point of the erroneous CNN forecast. It reads “Tbilisi, Russia,” but the city of Tbilisi is in the Republic of Georgia, which was formerly a part of the Russian Empire and then of the USSR, but whose citizens would very much like to enjoy independence from Russia. (Raimondo and Rockwell are, shall we say, eager beavers for anything that might promote “POP,” or “Power of Putin.”)

  1. Rockwell is also very happy that the Russian government has harassed non governmental organizations, such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, in Russia.

Here is one essay that he wrote http://blog.lewrockwell.com/lewrw/archives/009344.html

  2. I should have written that “allowing” after harrassment of registration sends the signal to them to be careful. We are living more and more in fear from authorities. Crushing of civil society is a great danger.

  3. Thanks for the links, Gregor. The McAdams piece is bizarre. Ukraine was unquestionably freer because of the Orange revolution, and Russia is much less free than it was. Rockwell & co. are pro-KGB; that’s evil, what’s bizarre is that they want to call their position “libertarian.”

It makes no sense at all to me… unless it’s just a stance they take for fundraising from a kooky donor base (which I suspect is a big part of the story).

  4. Isn’t it quite sad for someone like Lew to suggest America is totalitarian, but support Russian crack down on non-government NGOs? I know America isn’t perfect, but it’s no where near the Kremlin. I mean come on, when has Bush’s critics ended up dead like Putin’s?
