On August 14, 2009 Gurcharan Das, Author of India Unbound, Shrawan Garg, Group Editor, Dainik Bhaskar (India’s largest circulation Hindi newspaper), Dr Ved Pratap Vaidik, political thinker and Former Editor of Navbharat Times and PTI Bhasha, all press the button to launch Azadi.me into the internet*
Dr. Parth Shah, president of India’s Center for Civil Society, explains the elements of the Azadi.me program at their launch in New Delhi August 14.
*From a note from Parth Shah: “The challenge was how to get all 3 guests to have a role in the launching of the portal: We designed a large keyboard button with www.azadi.me and Enter, which they three pressed together. To add some drama, when they pressed for the first time, instead of the homepage, they saw (in Hindi) ‘Do you want really want azadi?’ Then they pressed again, and the screened showed ‘Do you really want full azadi?’ and then the third time, the home page opened.”
