Suleimania
I had a lengthy series of meetings at the university in Suleimania (a city that is spelled in Latin letters in a remarkable number of ways) with the president and a number of deans to discuss getting books for their libraries, textbooks translated, and fellowships and seminar participation for faculty and students. That was followed by a meeting with the minister of education here and some of her colleagues, and then a meeting with the major independent (non-governmental and affiliated with no political party) newspaper, Hawlati. I’m hoping to get out soon Kurdish editions of Frederic Bastiat’s works, as well as some of the other material that we’ve been bringing out in Arabic.
Cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool.
